Meet our founder
Shilpi Ashta
Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner (Advanced) & Registered Counsellor · MPsych, PACFA

Shilpi is a highly experienced NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner (Advanced) and registered Counsellor (PACFA) with a deep commitment to improving the lives of those who come to her for support. She founded Aceso Therapy — a proudly Australian practice — to build a service grounded in genuine therapeutic relationships and evidence-based care, right here in Western Sydney.

Having worked globally in psychology and similar fields — including in Singapore, the UAE, and India — Shilpi brings over 15 years of experience post her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, and has been working in this profession for almost 20 years. Now based in Australia, she established Aceso Therapy in Sydney's Hills District to be closer to the communities she calls home.

She delivers Behaviour Support Plans, therapeutic interventions, and counselling, and is also attached to several Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) supporting working adults.

Her approach draws on a wide range of evidence-based frameworks — including ACT, CBT, DBT, Positive Behaviour Support, and trauma-focused therapy — always centring the participant's voice, goals, and lived experience. She also speaks Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu, enabling culturally responsive care for diverse communities.

NDIS counselling — who is eligible and how does it work?

Restrictive practices & least restrictive support under NDIS

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requires all restrictive practices to be authorised, monitored and reported. Aceso Therapy's behaviour support practitioners ensure every plan is compliant, evidence-based, and focused on reducing restriction over time.
