Aceso Therapy was founded on the belief that every person, regardless of ability, deserves access to high-quality, genuinely caring support.
Shilpi is a highly experienced NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner (Advanced) and registered Clinical Counsellor (PACFA) with a deep commitment to improving the lives of those who come to her for support. She founded Aceso Therapy — a proudly Australian practice — to build a service grounded in genuine therapeutic relationships and evidence-based care, right here in Western Sydney.
Having worked globally in psychology and similar fields — including in Singapore, the UAE, and India — Shilpi brings over 15 years of global experience post her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. Now based in Australia, she established Aceso Therapy in Sydney's Hills District to be closer to the communities she calls home.
Shilpi works with children, adults, and families across the lifespan — from toddlers to elders — with particular expertise in ASD, ADHD, neurodevelopmental conditions, trauma, anxiety, and intellectual disability. She delivers Behaviour Support Plans, therapeutic interventions, and counselling, and is also attached to several Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) supporting working adults.
Her approach draws on a wide range of evidence-based frameworks — including ACT, CBT, DBT, Positive Behaviour Support, and trauma-focused therapy — always centring the participant's voice, goals, and lived experience. She also speaks Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu, enabling culturally responsive care for diverse communities.
Every plan, every session, every decision starts with the participant — their goals, their voice, their life.

"Shilpi is an outstanding behavioural therapist. Her patience, expertise, and compassionate approach have made a significant positive impact on my son, Faiz. She tailors her strategies to his individual needs and has been incredibly supportive throughout his journey. We are truly grateful for her dedication and highly recommend her to any family seeking exceptional behavioural support."
"Working with Shilpi the Behaviour Support Practitioner has been a great experience. She is highly professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to achieving the best outcomes for participants. One of the things we value most is that she provides tailored training to our support workers based on each participant's individual Behaviour Support Plan, ensuring our team is well-equipped to deliver consistent, person-centred support. She is also very responsive and approachable — always prompt in answering questions or providing guidance whenever needed. Her collaborative approach makes her a pleasure to work with, and we highly recommend her services."
"I had the privilege of working with Shilpi while supporting a client with very complex needs over several years. What I valued most was her compassion and the emotional support she gave me as a caregiver. During the most intense times, her encouragement to keep going — using praise, precise and clear words like 'safe hands' — helped me stay steady when I wanted to give up. She reminded me to keep doing activities, include and not isolate the client, to use sensory play, and to see the person beyond the behaviour. Our client has made incredible progress and is now much calmer and more connected to family and the community. A big part of that was having someone in my corner who believed change was possible. For families who need a kind, supportive voice to help them through, Shilpi offers a lot of heart. I'm grateful for her role in our journey and I wish her every success as she grows her practice."
"Being a mother to a special needs child, I have been to multiple clinics for early intervention therapies. But to have met Shilpi and got the opportunity to have her as our Behavioural Therapist is beyond blessing. She is by far the most genuine and caring therapist I have ever met — it is a rare occasion to meet a therapist who actually really cares about a client. When we encountered issues with my son's previous school regarding his behaviour, Shilpi advocated for us to ensure my son received all the help he was supposed to get. As we originate from a non-English-speaking country, Shilpi has consistently exceeded expectations — sharing information about therapeutic options we were previously unaware of, such as national and companion cards, and identifying extracurricular activities to enhance his skill development. My son has been seeing Shilpi for more than 2 years. He has gained so much confidence, made incredible progress and improved his skills dramatically. We feel safe, confident and heard. Shilpi is a knight in shining armour not only for our son but for our little family 🤭 I would highly recommend Shilpi Ashta, the ultimate Behavioural Therapist."
